Susan Dykstra is born and raised on a dairy farm in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She has always had a passion for photography and loved the beauty of nature from her child hood on. Susan is a self taught master nature photographer and she began to sell her photos in the mid 1990’s and since than has never looked back. Photography has become her life passion and she strives to make people more aware of the beauty in the landscape around them, no matter where they are or where they live. Susan specializes mainly in fine art, nature photography and continually works for stock agencies.

    She has accomplished winning several photo contest, some of which were “National Photo Contest” and Susan donates her time and art annually to several local organizations and fund raisers.

    Susan’s work appeared in publications such as Lake Superior Magazine, Natures Best Magazine and her images have graced the cover of Thunder Bay’s own BayView for the past 3yrs.

    The crisp, cold, mid-winter, when temperatures plunge to     -15C or colder is her favourite time of year to photograph. Susan runs her own gallery, “Window Light Photo Gallery”, at 581 Boundary Dr. west off HWY 61. The gallery is open Saturdays and Mondays only or by appointment.(807.628.2772).
